Corvair Atlanta's Springfest '99

Best of Show honors at Springfest went to Joe Ratledge of Loudon, Tennessee, and his 1965 110 HP, 4-speed Monza convertible. When you look at the workmanship in the engine compartment, it's easy to understand why this car won the judges' favor.

The thought that crossed my mind as I tried to pull my jaw up off my chest was, "Did this Corvair look this good on the showroom floor?"

Joe told me he worked at this restoration approximately 5 hours a day, over an eighteen month period, with breaks on weekends and holidays. He easily put between 1,500 and 2,000 hours into it!

Optional luggage rack (61327 bytes)

It might be tough to convince the casual observer that the antique plate seen above really belongs on this car. It almost looks too new!

The handsome 1965 Monza's exterior trim options include tinted windshield, front and rear bumper guards, gas door guard, protective door edge trim, deck lid luggage rack, and simulated wire wheel covers.
