Evening Orchid was a color exclusive to the '65 Corvair Monza and Corsa models, and wasn't available on the base 500 series. Because the color is quite rare, I thought I'd show you a couple of shots of this 140 horsepower Corsa convertible, owned by Colonial Corvairs member, Steve Burns. |
While bumper guards were a popular option, Steve opted for the cleaner lines of an uncluttered bumper. However, the top-of-the-line Corsa is not without options, and is equipped with aftermarket headlight stone guards. As well as being practical, the guards give the car rally flair. |
It's starting to get really wet at the Fall Classic but we soldier on. Seen above is another nice looking and relatively stock '65 Monza. The Madeira Maroon coupe does have a couple of subtle custom touches such as an aftermarket dual exhaust system, and a rear cove area painted Argent Silver, like the top-of-the-line Corsa series. The full wheel covers are correct for the year. The same type of wheel cover with a series-specific center insert was standard equipment on both the Monza and the Corsa. |
