Hustling back to join the autocross spectators, I arrived just in time to see Bill Bertram put his Corvair through its paces in Specialty class. He did not finish his first lap, but he persevered and bounced back with two respectable laps; 36.57 and 37.00. At right, he powers by in the straight. |

Hangin' out... The Yenko Stinger gets loose and its driver counter-steers in the nick of time to keep the tail-happy racer under control. A lesser driver might have spun into the cones. As it turned out, the minor error caused nothing more than a little loss of speed exiting the turn. |
