Rick Norris Crown Corv-8

That completes our look at a very trick Corv-8 engine installation. We can see from the sunlight reflected on the custom Corv-8 valve covers that the car is starting to spend some time outdoors! The project is getting very close to shakedown time!

There's still a lot of work ahead, though, including the interior, rust removal, body work and a professional paint job.

If that part of the restoration is executed as well as what we've seen so far, this '66 Monza could have a future on the car show circuit.

Rick notes that many late model Corvair owners install a Corsa instrument cluster. He decided that because his car is a Monza, and because he liked the stock layout, he'd simply replace the stock gauges with VDO substitutes; a 120 MPH speedometer, a fuel gauge and an all-important 7000 RPM tachometer. He finished the command position with a Grant leather wrapped steering wheel complete with a billet button and a Chevy bow-tie. To the right of the brake pedal we see the 1/4-inch stainless line carrying hydraulic fluid from the clutch master cylinder to the throw-out bearing.
