Corvair Atlanta's Springfest '99

Here's another air-conditioned Greenbrier. This one, a 1963 model equipped with a 110 horsepower engine, belongs to Tom Mays of Forsyth, Georgia. It's another example of a well dressed Corvair 95, with chrome bumpers, simulated wire wheel covers and a spoiler under the front bumper.

Rickie Williams and his wife Christine motored to the show from Columbia, Kentucky in the 1965 Corsa, below. Vintage Cragar SS mags, a custom interior and a Corsa Enterprises chin spoiler set this one apart from the pack. The blacked out area between the low and high beam headlights adds another subtle custom touch.

Rickie bought this car 20 years ago, when he was 14! It's safe to say the Corvair "bug" caught him early, and just won't let go!

Rickie's Corsa sees service as a daily driver, and is equipped with a 4-speed stick and a modified 140 engine. The stock 4 single-barrel Rochester carburetors were replaced by a Carter AFB 4-barrel mounted on an IECO center-fed intake manifold. The accelerator linkage is a motorcycle clutch cable, set up in a pull configuration. Other performance items include Seth's wires and forged TRW pistons.
