Corvair Atlanta's Springfest '99

Many site visitors have been asking for more early models and Corvair 95 trucks. Springfest had 'em, and a healthy showing of late models as well.

The '63 Greenbrier sportwagon below is daily driven, and a totally up-to-date example of the Corvair 95. Owned by Richard and Sara Jenkins, the Greenbrier features zoned air conditioning, a custom interior, VDO gauges, and a Pioneer sound system.

1963 Corvair 95 Greenbrier (91904 bytes)

The Greenbrier has chrome bumpers, originally a deluxe option, and stainless side view mirrors, adapted from a late model truck. An attractive paint job, combined with a custom stripe treatment above and below the color band, and the wire wheel covers combine to provide the vehicle "take me anywhere" good looks.

While it can't be seen in the picture above, an air scoop built in to a spoiler under the front bumper routes fresh air to the air conditioning condenser.

Spyder style cluster with VDO gauges (34534 bytes)

A compliment of VDO gauges nicely fitted to a Monza Spyder face plate provides essential information. Richard told me about another system he has on board (not shown), involving a digital display and a rotary switch used to display critical temperatures at various points in the uni-pack power train. Notice the tachometer's redline is set to 6,500 RPM. That's got to be good for an extra 10 MPH!
