Corvair Atlanta's Springfest '99

The Greenbrier's original 145 cu. in. engine was replaced with a 164 cu. in. (1964-69) motivator. The horsepower rating of the larger engine is unknown, as Richard used a combination of Corvair engine parts to yield reliable good power and drivability. The extra displacement helps drive the air-conditioning system.

The van is thoroughly insulated to maximize the efficiency of the air-conditioning in hot weather, and the heater in winter. The insulation also improved the acoustics for the high fidelity sound system.

Custom upholstery and air conditioning

This interior view shows the custom upholstery with seat belts at all positions, and the overhead air conditioning system for the rear seat passengers. Obviously, a lot of work went into the planning and execution of this excellent vintage Greenbrier.
