Corvair Atlanta's Springfest '99
The Greenbrier's original 145 cu. in. engine was replaced with a 164 cu. in. (1964-69) motivator. The horsepower rating of the larger engine is unknown, as Richard used a combination of Corvair engine parts to yield reliable good power and drivability. The extra displacement helps drive the air-conditioning system. |
The van is thoroughly insulated to maximize the efficiency of the air-conditioning in hot weather, and the heater in winter. The insulation also improved the acoustics for the high fidelity sound system. |
This interior view shows the custom upholstery with seat belts at all positions, and the overhead air conditioning system for the rear seat passengers. Obviously, a lot of work went into the planning and execution of this excellent vintage Greenbrier. |
