Daytona 2000 - Corvair Speedweek
I thought the "L97" lettering on the license plate of this 1963 Monza Spyder convertible might be a reference to the Regular Production Option (RPO) number of the Spyder package. A quick check of Tony Fiore's book, The Corvair Decade, revealed that L87, not L97, is the correct option number. Obviously, the owner is telegraphing a message that there's a little more happening with this Spyder than the original option number would adequately describe. Scroll down for a look the engine compartment! |
Okay, L97 works for me. Something tells me it is not all about chrome and custom metal work; there must be something special happening with the internals as well! |
