Daytona 2000 - Corvair Speedweek

In 1998, while surfing Corvair sites on the web, I saw a small picture of Earl Wright's 1965 Corsa on a site hosted by the Detroit Area Corvair Club (D.A.C.C.). That summer, I made a trip to the club's Corvair Homecoming, hoping to have a close look at the car. Unfortunately, Earl had moved, and wasn't at the Homecoming.

When I spotted the Corsa at Daytona 2000, I realized it was the car I had been looking for in Detroit. The unique induction arrangement on this turbo car is unlike the stock 180 turbo, in that it uses a custom 4-leg intake manifold and carb setup. Earl's Corsa also has a rich quarter-mile drag racing history and a few 12-second  time slips to prove it!

Earl Wright's Corsa interior

This gold award winner is absolutely straight with a beautiful paint job and perfect interior. A trio of custom gauges mounted in the center of the dash read oil pressure, oil temperature and turbo boost. A Pioneer sound system replaces the stock radio.
