Below, the Sprint modified late model and Palomar Red Spyder each have their own unique sound. The yellow late model with its large-port heads and dual exhaust has a distinctive lop at idle. The turbo, with it's large diameter single exhaust has a different, but equally appealing burble. |
Rounding out our pictorial is this Ember Red '64 Monza owned by Tom Smith of Colonial Corvairs. As it made its way out of the parking lot and up the road, we said goodbye to some of the other Corvair enthusiasts on site before setting out on our six-hour return trip to Canada. |
We thank the members of Bay State Corvairs, Cal Clark, and the people of Clark's Corvair Parts for an excellent few hours of entertainment at the 1998 Fall Classic. We'll be back to the Mohawk trail at some point in the future! Special thanks to Mike Kellstrand of Bay State Corvairs and Celia Raia of Colonial Corvairs for helping us identify some of the owners of the fine cars on these pages. You can visit both the Clark's Corvair Parts and Bay State Corvairs web sites. They are listed in the Links section, on the navigation bar below. |
