Corvair emblem Corsa

Norman C. Witte's Corvair Affair

This was Norm's first Corsa. He found it abandoned in a garage in Detroit, where it had spent fourteen years. Because they salt the streets so heavily in Detroit, salt in the air landed on the car in the garage and caused pitting to all the top surfaces. Norm had the car painted and took it back to the spot where is had been abandoned to take this photograph. Eventually he sold it to a cousin, who was also smitten by the Corvair "bug."
