Roy Nakamura's fine '69 Monza

The handsome 1969 is  equipped with all-around tinted glass. Other options include bright door edge trim, and  yet-to-be-installed trim for the fuel door. The stock 13" wheels and white wall tires were replaced with 15 x 7" Cragar wires and black wall 195/60s on the front, and 215/60s on the rear. Note that Roy has yet to remove the original factory invoice.

Roy says he feels a little guilty about racking up miles on the practically new Corvair, but he bought it to drive it, and that's what he's going to do. I'd be inclined to do precisely that, and from my perspective, there's no need to feel guilty. Corvair parts supply continues to run strong, thanks to the many Corvair specialty vendors listed in the Links section of this site, under Corvair Parts & Restorers. It shouldn't be difficult to maintain.

Looking at what he's invested in the car, Roy muses that he "could have bought a 1997 Geo Metro or a 1992 Ford Taurus instead," but he has no regrets. Neither do his two daughters, who supported his decision. (Keys, Dad?) They think the '69 sport coupe is "cool."

So do I, Roy. So do I. Very cool!
