Leave it to a Californian to cook up an attractive custom treatment! The late model below belongs to Hector Gonzales and provides a great example of classy, mild custom work.

Hector frenched the taillights, removed the cove trim from the engine compartment lid and the lower cove area along the bumper, and painted the pot metal cove end trim pieces body color. A set of taper tip exhaust pipes exit straight out the back. Looks good!

The car is a convertible Corv-8 mid-engine conversion, and it's unfortunate we don't have other pictures. However, Bryan Blackwell has a picture of the Gonzales car on his  autocross website. Just follow this link to take a look at this well crafted custom.  

Below, we see a great looking 1965 Corsa, 180 hp turbo sport coupe, stock in every obvious respect from the turbo emblem on the deck lid and the single turbo tailpipe under the bumper, to the standard-for-1965 Corsa pinstripe along the belt line. I'm not certain the paint is a stock color. It might be the rare Evening Orchid, a color exclusive to the 1965 model year. Evening Orchid usually appears to be a little darker.

Above, a great looking '66 Corsa convertible photographed at the 1994 CORSA convention. Non-stock touches include 14" Chevy rally wheels and tires, modified (shortened) black GM X-body windshield wiper arms, sport mirrors and a double pinstripe in black over silver. In every other respect, this car looks as original as it was when it rolled off the assembly line. When photographed by Rick Norris, it belonged to Corvair Wally of the Detroit Area Corvair Club, who eventually sold it to fellow Michigan enthusiast, Gerry Roberts.
