D.A.C.C. Corvair Homecoming
A trio of red 'vairs rounds out our tour of the Detroit Area Corvair Club's Corvair Homecoming. We spent about five hours hanging out with the club members, and feasting on the sites the event had to offer. It was a very enjoyable experience for me, and Christiane and Mark seemed to enjoy themselves as well. I'm a lucky guy to have a wife that understands a guy's love of cars, and in particular, his obsession with the air-cooled, rear-engine, sporty car from the Sixties that just won't let go. |
Forward control fans who have filled out the questionnaire in the Survey section of this site wanted more trucks. I hope you liked what you saw, as we introduced our first trucks to the page. Keep on truckin'! |
Engines started to burst to life around three o'clock and we watched as the members of the D.A.C.C. and their guests—remarkable people who dedicate their time and resources to the preservation of a great little antique car—made their way out of the parking lot. Once again, the Corvairs had come home to Detroit, the World's great Motor City, and birthplace of a dream. Now, they headed into the future, looking every bit as elegant as they did when they first rolled off the assembly lines. |
