The cars of the V-8 Registry

The pictures of Harlan's car at right and below were sent to us by Mike Mann, who captured the racer in fresh paint at the Corvair Society of America (CORSA) national convention at Lake Tahoe.

Harlan invests a lot of time experimenting with the rear suspension geometry and settings to fine tune the handling. This picture gives us a great view of the 14 1/2" wide racing slicks on the rear of the car. The serious looking rubber does a great job of transferring power to the pavement!

Speaking of power, Harlan purchased, and plans to install a 250 Magnacharger from B&M, as the evolution of the car continues.

At right, Mike's second shot of Harlan's all-American, red, white and blue autocross terror. According to Mike Mann, watching Harlan autocross the car was one of the highlights of the '99 convention, and he was so impressed with Harlan's driving, he asked him if he gives driving lessons!

This is Canadian Jay Dover, of Brampton, Ontario (minutes from Toronto), running a mild 350 with a 4-speed.

The inner body panels are all cut out for weight savings. It has front disc brakes and rack and pinion steering.

Jay says he races anywhere, anytime.
